Reducing Dust Mites in the Home - Use Synthetics: Replace feather and down products with synthetic.
- Clean weekly: Vacumn, mop and dust. Never use a dry cloth, since this just stirs up mite allergens.
- Frequently wash all bedding in hot water 60°C. Cold and warm water won´t kill mites.
- Air and Sunlight : Freezing kills mites but does not remove their residue. Extended exposure to sunlight, and low levels of humidity also destroy dust mites. Our cleaning surpasses the Australian Standard AS/NZ3733 standards. We always pre-vacuum your carpet with high quality dual motor vacuum cleaners that are installed with HEPA filters.

What we want you to know is that AS3733 recommends cleaning your upholstery every 1- 3 years, depending on its use. Even if you think that it doesn’t look too dirty, hygienically it will be crawling with dust mites, bacteria and other germs that are not seen by the naked eye. Cleaning your lounge suite regularly means it will match the structural warranty.
There are five steps to be aware of for cleaning a lounge suite correctly and professionally. - Cleaning must be a warm water extraction system that controls the temperature so as not to shrink or stretch fabrics.
- A professionally trained technician like ours must always perform a dye test to ensure that the dye will not run.
- All stains must be pre-treated with enzyme chemicals to ensure no colour loss of fabric, but good stain removal.
- The lounge suite must be pre-sprayed with the correct shampoos, deodorisers, sanitisers and colour enhancers in accordance to the Manufacturers Australia Standard 3733.
- Gently extract water removing 95% of the moisture. Drying times will be on average 4 – 6 hours. Another great product is the re-application of upholstery protection using Teflon; this will give you great results each time it is cleaned.
Leather
As you will no doubt be aware leather is a collector of perspiration which breaks down the leather dye over a period of time and is responsible for cracking and pitting the hide. Once the hide starts to hardenand crack the perspiration damage increases and the overall speed of deterioration increases.
The actual method we use entails rubbing down the hide by hand with high quality leather cleaners which ensures the perspiration and soil is removed not only from the surface area but also from all cracks and pits.
WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND leather hide food to ensure its continual protection which will help to rejuvenate the hides own unique qualities and make the hide supple and young again at the same time helping to prevent the perspiration penetrating into the dye structure.
